The house named “Alchimista” is part of the Hotel Sextantio Albergo Diffuso in Santo Stefano di Sessanio (AQ), a small medieval village nestled in the mountains of the Gran Sasso National Park in Abruzzo. This one of a kind Hotel was born from the recovery of the rural homes that sit within the village with the aim to bring back to the present its ancient and neglected history. In order to do so, all the remains of daily life encrusted and sedimented within the walls of the houses were preserved and kept as traces of its deepest soul. The house is distributed on two levels and covers a total area of about 70sqm. On the lower floor there is a living room with an antique fireplace and a small adjoining space used as a kitchen. On the upper floor, which is accessed by a wooden staircase, there is a bedroom that also houses a bathtub and a bathroom. The heating system runs discretely under the floor and the electricity works with low voltage signals. The use of recycled materials and typical local furniture evoke the ancient use of the house. The sale of the property can eventually be associated with some services delivered by the Hotel Sextantio Albergo Diffuso.
