This historic hamlet rises in a setting of rolling hills planted with vineyards and olive groves, in an area rich in history and culture, with important artistic testimonies. The property is located in the locality of Rignano sull'Arno, which has ancient origins and extends in a bend formed by the Arno River before arriving in Florence. A strategic position, generous nature, an important river which since the Middle Ages has attracted noble Florentine families and important religious institutions. From San Donato in Collina to Volognano and Rosano the area is full of churches, villas, towers, castles, with archaeological remains that never cease to amaze.
The history of this "Borgo" has been documented since 1586 and at that time this splendid property was part of the Benedictine monastery of Vallombrosa. Later on, the property was handed over to the da Verrazzano family of military nobles and this noble family in 1711 donated the property to the religious order of San Francesco di Sales.
Today this magnificent hamlet is a splendid estate , consisting of three farmhouses and houses three apartments, skilfully renovated preserving the roots of the place and the characteristics of the Tuscan tradition. The terracotta floors, the ceilings with exposed wooden beams, the stone details and the furnishings with walnut furniture reflect the atmosphere of classic country houses.
"La Colonica", "Il Fienile" and "La Conigliera" overlook a beautiful and evocative panorama and are surrounded by a large garden, which leads to a large panoramic swimming pool with solarium. The property has many spaces full of atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the Tuscan countryside in all seasons of the year.
"La Colonica" offers a double entrance with two sitting rooms, one of which with fireplace and with direct access to a small private garden, a dining room with kitchen, a large laundry/storage room on the ground floor. On the second floor there are three double bedrooms and two bathrooms.
"Il Fienile" consists on the ground floor of a living room with fireplace, dining room with kitchen and the two double bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor.

The historic property also consists of an important agricultural land, which extends for about 39 hectares, located in a panoramic and hilly position at an average altitude of 350 meters above sea level.

The land is divided into two distinct lots for a total area of ââ17.03.80 hectares represented by olive groves, walnut grove, orchard, and vegetable garden as well as a forest of 17.81.20 hectares.
The olive grove of about 16 hectares is made up of 6000 plants, of which 4800 are present in the graphic cultural plan of ARTEA, and there are varieties of frantoio, leccino and moraiolo. The cultivation method is totally organic, and the certified production (ICEA) has a production potential of about 400 quintals when fully operational.
The name and the brand of the oil production are both registered and protected, and the oil is produced using the latest generation Alfa Laval company oil mill.
The orchard is specialized with varied layouts and extends for approximately 4176 square meters with the production of peaches and apricots. The cultivation method is totally organic and there is a latest generation underground irrigation system.
The forest covers an area of ââapprox. 18 hectares. A prevalent composition of oak species with sporadic cypress plants.
One of the really important elements that enhance this Borgo is that the property is equipped with a Well which intercepts two conspicuous veins of water at a depth of approximately 32 and 60 meters; the revenue is constant even in dry summer periods, the water is filtered by means of a pump and passed to UV rays (therefore technically drinkable) and then sent to an accumulation tank of about 350,000 liters; the water is used for crops for domestic use, for the supply of the swimming pool, for the automatic watering of the lawns and gardens surrounding the property as well as the rainwater which is accumulated in another tank.
This beautiful Borgo is 35 minutes from Florence, 50 km from Arezzo and about 18 km from Fiesole and the Via Chiantigiana.
