During the 15th Century, this majestic property was one of the representative seats bound with the activities of the Duke of Este, nowadays it represents a rare example of prestigious historic dwelling belonging to only one noble and important family, even mentioned by Dante in his Purgatorio. In the course of the 19th Century, the palace, thanks to the enlightened and progressive work of the owners, was an important cultural gathering of the time, literary and artistic hub, which hosted eminent people among which Giuseppe Verdi, Giosuè Carducci, Giovanni Pascoli and Franz Litz. The restoration plan provided for the full recovery of the 15th Century structure, the building was completely refurbished, paying great attention to the care in individuating the original structures significant from an artistic and historical point of view. This recent and careful restoration, for which the owner required the most important experts and contemporary technicians, has led to the discovery of valuable artistic elements within the building, such as the stunning coffered ceilings and the frescoes on the noble floor. At the moment the property is partially assigned to commercial premises and offices, besides being used as private residence. Thanks to its prestigious characteristics and its central location, the palace would be the ideal place of the institutional forum of banks or foundations, for this purpose renting could be considered. The estate is set in the heart of Reggio Emilia, crucial location, where Calatrava signed the high-speed Station and that became a financial, cultural, and touristic benchmark.
